Australia secures knockout berth in Champions Trophy 2025 following rainout against Afghanistan.

Travis Head and Steve Smith

The game between Afghanistan and India in the Champions Trophy 2025 was canceled due to rain. Australia was doing well in their chase of 274 runs, thanks to Travis Head’s strong start. But then the rain came and ruined the game. Australia is still in a good position in their group with one win and two canceled games, so they’re moving on to the semi-finals.

Afghanistan started off batting first, but their openers didn’t do so great. However, Sediqullah Atal and Azmatullah Omarzai did a good job and scored 85 and 67 runs. They ended up with a total of 273 runs. Ben Dwarshuis took the most wickets for Australia with three, while Adam Zampa and Spencer Johnson got two each. Glenn Maxwell and Nathan Ellis also got a wicket each.
