An earthquake struck Bihar’s Siwan shortly after strong tremors were felt in the Delhi-NCR region.
A few hours after Delhi experienced strong tremors, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale struck Bihar, with its epicenter located in Siwan.

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck Bihar on Monday morning, with tremors felt across the state’s western region. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter was located in Siwan at a depth of 10 kilometers.
An earthquake struck Siwan at approximately 8:02 am, just hours after a quake of similar magnitude hit Delhi-NCR around 5:36 am today. According to an official, the epicenter of the Delhi-NCR quake was near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan, an area close to a lake that has experienced smaller, low-magnitude earthquakes every two to three years. The region recorded a 3.3 magnitude quake in 2015, the official noted, adding that a loud sound was heard when the earthquake occurred. The strong tremors caused residents in high-rise buildings across Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad to rush outside.
A woman in her 50s, who was on a morning walk in E Block of Noida Sector 20, said, “We were walking in the park, so we didn’t feel it strongly. But it was quite intense, and people came out of their homes.”
